The White Princess plant’s basic care requirements seem a bit demanding. The right way to put it is the plant has some demands that the gardener needs to pay attention to. If you get it right, the beauty of this plant can be enjoyed for years.

1. Lighting

The indoor plants enjoy bright sunlight, just not directly. If you place it outdoors, make sure it has enough shade. If it is indoor, make sure the plant is never in contact with full sun, or else its leaves may get burned. 

2. Watering Rules

The green indoor plant can stand days without water. You may water it about once a week. A spray top half of the soil is enough for this Philodendron variant. The evergreen plant is a tropical plant that is more to the dry side of the forest. You may drop a dipper of water, let it soak for a while, and drain the excess water. Then you can go on and let it dry out for a week or less. 

3. Temperature 

The best condition for your White princess to grow is somewhere not too hot and not too cold. It thrives in 64-73˚F (18-23°C ) temperature. It is a tropical plant, so it needs to be somewhere warm. Freezing temperatures can kill it, so keep the plant indoors in the wintertime. 

You can have it outdoors during summer, but make sure it stays in the shade. You can gather several tropical plants together near a humidifier. The humid temperature will help to help the plant to grow vigorously. 

4. Soil Condition 

It needs rich soil because the plant can make the soil dry easily. The average soil pH is around 5.6-7. It needs mild acidic-neutral. You can add fertilizer once a month in spring and summer to balance the acidity of the soil. 

The ideal soil for White Princess is a combination of compost with perlite, sphagnum moss, and peat moss. You need to keep the soil rich in nutrients. If the soil compact is too dry, you can add vermiculite or pine bark to loosen it up.

5. Fertilizer

The White Princess Philodendron needs regular fertilizer to enable the lush foliage growth. Liquid fertilizer is the best option due to its dilutable ability in the water and is suitable also for soil. Put the fertilizer once every month during summer and spring. Cut back in winter and fall to once every two months.  

Avoid fertilizing the soil when it is dry, it will not be absorbed and most likely will run through. Water your White Princess and add the fertilizer shortly. It will ensure an even distribution of it throughout the soil. 

6. Pruning

The pruning of White Princess is as simple as removing yellow or damaged leaves once in a while. The slow-growing plant naturally grows in tidy shape, so you don’t have to trim it frequently. The rambunctious vining tropical plants need to be cut using a sharp knife or scissors. 

Remember to sterilize with alcohol before using it for cutting. The plant is prone to pests, so make sure to put insecticides in once in a while. You may need to cut out damaged leaves immediately once you saw them. 

7. Repotting
